CloudTrace Project Overview
The CloudTrace project investigates how cloud networks interconnect and interact with the public Internet. We do this using by probing every routed /24 IPv4 subnet. This probing uses a mix of ICMP Echo Requests, UDP and TCP Syn probes to gather the data necessary to interpret the Internet topology. UDP and TCP probes used destination port 30000.
Opt Out
We probe every /24 once every 11 hours, but a target might receive up to 32 probe packets in a short period of time. To opt out, send an email to cloudtrace@caida.org specifying the address space we should avoid.
