Design, implementation, and performance of computer networks. Topics include: Internet protocols and routings, local area networks, quality of service, performance analysis, congestion control, switching and routing, multicast, IPv6, and network security. Programming exercises will be on protocol implementation and analysis.
After this course students should have basic knowledge on how the Internet works, and should be able to understand technical papers in this area. More importantly, students will be able to think like a network person.
