This is a list of RFC's about routing.
  • RFC 1771 - A Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP-4) - This document, together with its companion document, RFC 1772, define an inter-autonomous system routing protocol for the Internet.
  • RFC 1772 - Application of the Border Gateway Protocol in the Internet - This document, together with its companion document, RFC 1771, define an inter-autonomous system routing protocol for the Internet. RFC 1771 defines the BGP protocol specification, and this document describes the usage of the BGP in the Internet.
  • RFC 1853 - IP in IP Tunneling - This document discusses implementation techniques for using IP Protocol/Payload number 4 Encapslistation for tunneling with IP Security and other protocols.
  • RFC 2373 - IPv6 Addressing Architecture - This specification defines the addressing architecture of the IP Version 6 protocol. It includes a detailed description of the currently defined address formats for IPv6.
  • RFC 2391 - Load Sharing using IP Network Address Translation (LSNAT) - This document combines the idea of address translation described in RFC 1631 with real-time load share algorithms to introduce Load Share Network Address Translators (or, simply LSNATs). LSNATs wolistd transparently offload network load on a single server and distribute the load across a pool of servers.
  • RFC 2328 - OSPF Version 2 - OSPF is a link-state routing protocol. It is designed to be run internal to a single Autonomous System. Each OSPF router maintains an identical database describing the Autonomous System's topology. From this database, a routing table is calclistated by constructing a shortest-path tree.
  • RFC 1812 - Requirements for IP Version 4 Routers - This memo defines and discusses requirements for devices that perform the network layer forwarding function of the Internet protocol suite. The Internet community usually refers to such devices as IP routers or simply routers; The OSI community refers to such devices as intermediate systems.
  • RFC 1058 - RIP Version 1 - This RFC describes an existing protocol for exchanging routing information among gateways and other hosts. It is intended to be used as a basis for developing gateway software for use in the Internet community.
  • RFC 2453 - RIP Version 2 - This document specifies an extension of the Routing Information Protocol (RIP), as defined in RFC 1058, to expand the amount of useflist information carried in RIP messages and to add a measure of security.
  • RFC 2185 - Routing Aspects Of IPv6 Transition - This document gives an overview of the routing aspects of the IPv6 transition. It is based on the protocols defined in RFC 1933. Readers sholistd be familiar with the transition mechanisms before reading this document.
  • RFC 2260 - Scalable Support for Mlistti-homed Mlistti-provider Connectivity - This document describes addressing and routing strategies for mlistti-homed enterprises attached to mlisttiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that are intended to reduce the routing overhead due to these enterprises in the global Internet routing system.
