Led the IEC effort and contributed to various CAIDA research activities. Taught courses through the Computer Science department, such as data structure and system administration. Simultaneously, taught a networking course at Boulder and UCSD on the Mbone as a distance education demonstration for the IEC project. August 1982 – present: Associate Professor, University of Colorado, Boulder. Teaching computer networks, UNIX system administration, and operating systems. Advisor to the local ACM chapter and also coach of Colorado’s ACM programming team. Summer 1996 – present: Consultant, XOR Network Engineering, security and system administration audits, and network design. January 1990-August 1990: Visiting Associate Professor, Dartmouth College. Sabbatical year. Professional Activities: IETF, Internet Engineering Task Force, attend meetings and provide MBONE broadcast (video conferencing via the Internet) of key sessions, 1995-present. Usenix Association taught tutorials on Network Design and Management and on UNIX System Administration, 1985- present. Also coordinated the MBONE broadcast of selected sessions and the network installation at USENIX Conferences, 1993-present. Taught similar tutorials for Uniforum, SANS, FedUnix, AUUG (Australia), NLUUG (Netherlands), NUUG (Norway), Europen (Europe), and other UNIX related organizations, 1990-present. Review and edit various technical publications for Addison-Wesley and for Prentice Hall, 1994-present. Designed and installed the computer network for Princeton University's new Computer Science Building, 1989 and for Dartmouth College's new Computer Science Building, 1993.
